“For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope….. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:4,3

Hope for the Christian is sure because it is a hope outside of ourselves. As Paul says, we do need to endure in the promise that we have been given. But, our hope is focused on the promise and on the One who made the promise. That promise was made eternally sure in the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, who is the Christ, the promised one.
So daily time with the Trinity in the grand themes of Scripture, all built upon the original promise from Genesis 3, gives us continued encouragement.
The God who is the focus of our hope, and the promise that He has made, fills us with joy and, we are at peace. We can “relax” with life as God decides to orchestrate it in and through us.
The context may swirl with advantage, or tumult, or suffering, or even pain, but the Holy Spirit gives us power to rise above all of this and abound in our God, who is hope. The promises that He has made, and our desire to live in this sure hope is our daily calling!!!
