Missio Dei

Whatever God is going to do in the world, He is going to do primarily through all Christ’s people. God is on mission—missio Dei—and He calls every believer in Christ to partner with Him in His work in our scattered locations as we live and speak the gospel.

This truth that God intends to use all His people for His mission in this world is a promise from Scripture—a promise that declares God’s design for His people: “We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Eph.2:10).

This promise, however, comes with an imperative: you and I, as believers in Jesus Christ, have to believe it, embrace it, and act on it by living incarnational lives among the people and in the places where God has put us.

Genesis declares, and the New Testament affirms, that man is designed to eventually serve God in the full restoration of the righteousness in which the Lord first created Adam and Eve. In the meantime, we are to serve God in the mission He is carrying out across human history until the final time of judgment.
